Palestine, TX. Curious, Palestine’s popular arts/science museum, has opened and features a new exhibit. This exhibit features artwork by well-known local artist, Janet Staples. The exhibit, Texas Heroes, presents captivating images of 12 famous men and women who were a part of early Texas’ history.

The exhibit is on loan from the Texas Oil and Gas Association in Austin, TX. It will be on view at Curious October 26 – December 30, 2017. In addition to historical information about these important figures, Texas Heroes programming includes deeper investigations into these heroes. The programming includes a Gallery Talk on November 8, open to the public at 5:30 pm, a Family Day on December 9 from 10 am – 3 pm, and 3 Saturday drawing classes on October 28, and November 11 and 18, from 10 am – 12 noon. Please visit www.exhibitcurious.org for pricing and more information.

The Curious Store features numbered and unnumbered prints of the Texas Heroes by Janet Staples, sold both individually or as a set. Many regular Store items are currently marked half-price to make room for new merchandise.

Curious will continue to feature its popular hands-on science exhibits and the artworks that complement them. They will enhance the problem-solving features in the Texas Heroes exhibits.

School field trips and group visits are available to see Texas Heroes and other Curious exhibits Mondays through Fridays by reservation.

Curious is open the public on Saturdays from 10 am – 3 pm. Admission is $5/person for ages two and older. Children under two are free.
